왜 이 건물 위에 달이 있는 거죠? 계획. 이 놀라운 중첩을 만들기 위해, 카메라를 정확히 어디에 놓고 언제 찍어야 하는지를 정확하게 파악하는 등, 천체 사진작가는 세심한 계획을 세웠다. 이 사진은 달이 지구의 그림자를 통과할 때 부분 월식이 최고조에 달했던 11월 19일 이른 아침에 촬영되었다. 이때에, 거의 모든 달(월면의 99.1%)이 지구 그림자의 가장 어두운 부분에 있었다. 그 건물은 남아메리카에서 가장 높은 건물인 칠레의 그란 토레 산티아고 건물이다. 비록 전체 월식이 인상적인 6시간 동안 지속되었지만, 이 사진은 일직선을 맞추기 위해 몇 초 안에 찍어야 했다. 지구의 자전이 곧 건물을 일직선 밖으로 이동시켰다. 다음 지구-달 일식은 12월 4일에 일어나는 태양의 개기일식이 될 것이지만, 우리 세계의 바닥에서만 볼 수 있다.

Explanation: Why is the Moon on top of this building? Planning. It took the astrophotographer careful planning -- including figuring out exactly where to place the camera and exactly when to take the shot -- to create this striking superposition. The single image featured was taken in the early morning hours of November 19, near the peak of the partial lunar eclipse that was occurring as the Moon passed through the Earth's shadow. At this time, almost the entire Moon -- 99.1 percent of its area -- was in the darkest part of the Earth's shadow. The building is the Gran Torre Santiago building in Chile, the tallest building in South America. Although the entire eclipse lasted an impressive six hours, this image had to be taken within just a few seconds to get the alignment right -- the Earth's rotation soon moved the building out of alignment. The next Earth-Moon eclipse will be a total eclipse of the Sun that will occur on December 4 -- but only be visible from the bottom of
